Heat Sources and Sprinklers

Dec 21, 2017, 08:54 AM

This class, from a previously record webinar, will answer the most common questions that people have about placing sprinklers in relation to different types of heat sources. Any one that has ever used NFPA 13 knows, it can be very difficult to determine where the Committee intends sprinklers to be placed depending on their temperature rating. With diagrams and analysis of the Committee’s statements, we will show you exactly what these tables mean and where sprinklers are supposed to be placed. Upon completion of this lesson, participants will be able to:

  • Identify common heat sources discussed in NFPA 13
  • Determine the correct temperature classification for sprinklers near different heat sources
  • Determine the correct distance sprinklers must be located from common heat sources.
  • Identify the correct sections in NFPA 13 that would apply in these situations.
