The Foam Service & Maintenance program will provide an overview of the basic types of fixed foam systems and will also focus on the correct service and maintenance procedures for the various ANSUL systems.  Students will have an opportunity for actual hands-on experience on foam testing procedures, bladder tank filling and more.  Live fire demonstrations of AFFF, Class A, and High Expansion Foam, a tour of ANSUL’s manufacturing facilities, and a demonstration of foam testing in accordance with UL 162 test procedures is also included in this program. During this two-day course, you will learn to identify the key components of storage occupancies required to properly design an automatic sprinkler system in accordance with NFPA 13. This includes: commodity classification, storage arrangement, storage height/clearances and available sprinkler types. You will also learn how the storage sprinkler system design curves were developed as well as how to navigate the storage chapters within NFPA 13. Full-scale fire test videos will be shown and you will work on case studies designed to utilize the tools learned throughout the course to develop acceptable automatic sprinkler protection schemes.
